Polanski's Oliver Twist

I watched Roman Polanski's gritty tale of Charles Dicken's Oliver Twist.  This movie is a hard-hitting drama that tells the story in straight forward form.  The abuses of orphan children are omni-present throughout the story. Oliver is presented as a child orphan brought up in a workhouse, abused verbally, starved, rejected, whipped, scorned, arrested and injured. The innocent character, Oliver, retains his goodness and kindness throughout it all.

I saw the musical 'Oliver!' and I read the book 'Oliver Twist.' It has always been one of my favorite novels.
